California Vacation. Day 5 and 6.

The last days of our trip have been spent in the sunny city of San Diego. Originally we had planned to end our trip in Baja, but after Aaron's east coast jaunt mid-trip, we decided to stay put and minimize some of the driving. Our days here have been spent close to the water, soaking in as much 70 degree weather as we can. Today we plan to go to the Stone Brewery, and we'll be back in DC late tomorrow evening. Here's to hoping this weather will join us on the east coast soon!

Since we were on the beach, doing "the crab" seemed fitting. . .

California Vacation. Day 3 and 4.

Right now we're in Palm Springs and WE LOVE IT! Making this a destination on our trip has turned out to be a really great decision. Palm Springs is a mid-century modern dream, nestled between mountains, with perfect weather and friendly folk. I've had my eye on The Ace Hotel for a number of years, and it's been so much fun to actually spend time here. Around every corner is something cool to photograph, and the lobby even has a photo booth (which we've used twice now)! Basically, we never want to leave. But, we're off to San Diego tomorrow, and Aaron is flying back to the east coast for a mere 24 hours. That's a story for another day, though ;)

California Vacation. Day 2.

We started our second day with coffee on our balcony before heading into the Hollywood hills for brunch at The Hart and the Hunter. We quickly found our way into Beverly Hills, and it was exactly how I imagined it would be. Everything was so green and well-manicured. The houses were huge, most of them gated, and everyone drove expensive cars. It even seemed like the sky was more blue! From there, we drove an hour south to the Laguna Beach. It was beautiful! It really has such a small town feel, and the homes on the hills above the beach are amazing. We decided we'd like to retire there. We're off to Palm Springs today, stay tuned!Photobucket Photobucket
