Tuscany.
Aaron reminded me the other day that I hadn't yet posted about our final stop on our European adventure last spring… Tuscany! It was the most relaxing part of the trip and a wonderful way to round out all the adventures we'd had the days before. We stayed 3 nights in a picture-perfect bed and breakfast located near the hill-top town of Montepulciano. The place looked like it had been taken straight out of an Anthropologie catalog, and it provided the ideal setting for drinking local wine while reading and watching the baby chicks! Not only was the setting beautiful, but the hosts were so kind. Thanks to their great recommendations, we ate some of the best meals of our life and I discovered my new favorite pasta dish - cacio e pepe! Its basically a grown up version of macaroni and cheese. SO GOOD. We brought back some pasta and I've created it a few times since being home. Obviously not nearly as good, but it does the job!

Snow day!
The best thing about Fridays (other than it being Friday) is that I work from home. I absolutely love work-from-home Fridays for an abundance of reasons, but the main one is having time for a walk in Central Park before work begins. Today I woke up with the surprise of snow and couldn't get ready fast enough to get outside. I know I'll probably complain about the snow later on this winter, but there's nothing like the first real snow of the season. It doesn't hurt that Central Park is gorgeous regardless, but the addition of snow made this morning one of my favorites.

Afternoon Tea.
Easily one of my favorite New York activities is getting afternoon tea at Bergdorf Goodman. Last year we decided to make it a Christmas tradition and I've also had a chance to go with a few girlfriends in between. Something about it makes you feel so fancy, and it's an extra perk when your whisper chairs overlook Central Park. Next up, trying to figure out how to afford all the fabulous clothes they sell ;)

Our 2014 Christmas Pictures!
Every year we look forward to Christmas Picture Day with my sister and her little family. Before I met Aaron I would take pictures of them for their Christmas card and once he came along we joined in on the fun, too. Sometimes I feel a bit ridiculous sending a card out with just our faces on it but I know when I look back at this time in our lives I'll be glad to have our first few Christmases documented when it was just the two of us. Thanks to Sam for taking these!

Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree!
Probably one of my favorite traditions during Christmas is going to get our tree. As a kid, we would always, always cut it down ourselves and there were even a few years where we trekked so far out and got HUGE trees that it was very reminiscent of the Griswold Christmas Vacation. We still joke about it to this day! Since Aaron and I have only lived in cities together, we've always gone to a lot or stand somewhere in our neighborhood. While I miss the days of an outdoor adventure, there is something fun and kind of romantic about picking out our tree and walking it home together through the neighborhood. You can see the past two years of getting our tree here and here.
