California Vacation. Day 1.

Yesterday felt like the never-ending day, in the best way possible. I guess that's what happens when you fly to the west coast and get to relive three hours of the day. We were greeted in LA by 80 degree weather, an upgraded car rental, and friendly folk who are tan year round. We made it to the place we were staying and our. jaws. dropped. We're staying 13 floors up, in downtown LA, in a minimalstic artist's apartment (found on Airbnb). It is amazing. We planned this vacation with the intention to stay in amazing places, and so far we have not been disappointed. The rest of our evening was spent walking around the city, fighting traffic (feels like home), and savoring every last bite of my first burger at In-N-Out. We were in bed by 9pm and I can't wait for the rest of this trip. Today, we're off to Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, and eating dinner at a place GQ named one of the top 12 restaurants of the year.

Valentine's Day.

We ate heart-shaped ravioli at home, and had our last sweet of the day together. My office is a little more cheery after an afternoon flower delivery, and my heart is happier knowing I have a Valentine forever.

The Weekend is Here!

I've been talking about this weekend since Monday! We have barely anything on the agenda which I am so excited about it. I'm hoping for several long naps, stretchy pants, and a crockpot meal or two.

Tonight we're going back to the speakeasy with Adam and Brittany ( my siblings-in-law!), and tomorrow evening I have a sister date. I hope to find a little time to get our itinerary organized, as we're leaving for our California vacation a week from Saturday. I can't wait! I'm happy to know there is sunshine and warmer weather in my very near future. Have a happy weekend!

A very, very cold visit to New York.

Hi all! We are back from a lovely weekend in New York where we visited friends and braved the cold. I even bought a new puffy coat to 1) fit in with all the other New-York-City-Puffy-Coat-Wearers, and 2) because it really was bone-chilling cold and my other coat just wasn't cutting it. I always feel so sleepy after a weekend away because it's go go go and usually nap-less. I do however feel quite accomplished by all the walking we did, and of course the eating to counteract it. The highlights for me were a Tribeca coffee date, brunch with our friends, and spontaneously taking the train back instead of the bus.
